You are baptized by water and the Holy Spirit. If you
have already been baptized, you state your intent and desire
to be an active parishioner. Then you meet with the rector,
urban missioner, or program associate, who will be able
to answer your questions about Epiphany and give you needed
information. They will also ask you what you are looking
for, what you need and what you want to share.
Five times a year, the New Members Committee welcomes new
members at the 11:00 Eucharist. You receive a nametag and
a new member sponsor, who will help you be incorporated
into the parish by inviting you to events and introducing
you to other parishioners.
You are encouraged to attend Faith Basics, which is a 6-session
introductory course about Epiphany, the Episcopal Church,
and the Christian faith. It is also an excellent time to
get to know other parishioners. Faith Basics is usually
offered in the fall and the spring on Sundays at 12:30pm.
The norm in the Episcopal Church is that adult baptized
members be confirmed by the bishop. The daylong Covenant
Course prepares you for this commitment.
