Since our founding in 1842, music has played an important role in the life of this parish. In addition to the church’s wonderful acoustics, Epiphany has two fine musical instruments, which are frequently used in programs and services. The nine-foot Steinway concert grand piano was given to the church in 1984 in memory of Paul Shinkman, a long-time parishioner and vestry member. The Aeolian-Skinner pipe organ, initially installed in 1968, is the fifth organ to be placed in the church. It was given in memory of Adolf Torovsky, organist choirmaster here for nearly fifty years. Today’s magnificent instrument comprises 64 ranks and 3,467 pipes. An historic chime of bells in Epiphany's tower peals the hour and is played for periodic recitals.
