Fundraisers

The Community Funding Ministry Team (CFMT) is charged with the responsibility to plan and implement fundraisers. This is one mechanism that we use to get financial support from non-parishioners (in addition to parishioners). More information about currently planning for fundraisers is available on the CFMT page.

Renovation

The Renovation Task Force spent the last few months of 2005 looking at architects who might be suitable for doing the type of work in which we are interested. We have researched architects we have met through our field trips, through architectural journals, and organizations dedicated to the restoration/renovation of sacred structures. After narrowing our list down to architects who had done similar projects to ours, we did further research by studying websites and contacting listed clients as kind of a reference check. At our last task force meeting, we took that long list, discussed our research findings and narrowed it down to five candidates. We have now sent these five candidates a request for qualifications. This basically asks them to submit to us information about their firm, their qualifications to do the type of work we are looking for, and about related works they have completed. The firms have until the end of January 2006 to submit their information to us. From this list of five, the task force will then have the difficult job of choosing three to come and meet with us and make a presentation about their firm. We know that we are going to have some tough choices ahead of us, but we are excited about the possibilities. Please keep the work of the task force in your prayers. We will keep you posted as we continue to move through the process.

Renovation Ministry Team
Mission Statement: We would like our church facility to make a clear statement of our parish identity. The space should be flexible, standing ready to serve the varied needs of a diverse congregation, the downtown poor and neighborhood office workers, and it should also maintain a traditional feel that honors our rich 163-year history. Realizing that the structure has undergone numerous renovations, we would like to restore the best of the church’s architectural past. As much as possible, we would like to use or put to new use existing artistic details, and perhaps add new works that will assist the space in proclaiming the epiphany of Christ as the savior of the world.
