Membership Ministry Basics
Membership ministries focus on people, community, and relationships. We invite newcomers to come and see if Epiphany is a faith community that can nurture and challenge them in their spiritual journey. We encourage new parishioners to participate in a parish ministries or faith groups so that they can develop friendships and a network of mutual support. Through membership relationships, we can be challenged, nurtured, and empowered to grow in the faith and build Christian community.
Epiphany Happy Hour
Several times a year we gather at The Laughing Man Tavern across G St. from the church. Everyone is invited, especially newcomers and new parishioners.
Coffee Hour
Following the 11:00 Eucharist, worshipers gather in the parish hall for Coffee Hour. It is a primary time for connecting with parishioners and greeting newcomers. Parishioners and parish groups provide the food and set the table. On the fourth Sunday of the month, we celebrate birthdays.
Mardi Gras
Before the serious tone of Lent, we must party! Mardi Gras is a major parish party, complete with home-cooked jambalaya, red beans and rice, king cakes, a Dixieland Jazz Band, dancing, and a parade on G St. It all happens the night before Ash Wednesday.
OPALS
Seniors are a very active part of life at Epiphany. OPALS (Older People with Active Lifestyles) is our seniors ministry. This lively group meets for lunch and trips to museums on occasion.
